Welcome to the
Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce

The motto of the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce (RVCC) is “Excellence through Service.” We are a voluntary, action-oriented organization of business men and women working together to improve the business climate and quality of life in Ruidoso and the surrounding area. Our mission is to foster development, growth and prosperity and we pledge to be the advocate of the business community, using our resources and expertise to maintain the best possible business climate for our members.

The RVCC was organized over 67 years ago and since 1949 has been housed in the same facility at 720 Sudderth Drive in Ruidoso. In 1997, the building underwent a dramatic transformation funded solely with private contributions. The facility was expanded to include additional offices, an enlarged area for visitors, and several features to take advantage of present day technology. This tremendous community effort was recognized by the New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry, the statewide Chamber of Commerce, with a Chamber of the Year award.

Today, the RVCC is a thriving organization with over 650 members and growing. The staff consists of an Executive Director, Office Manager, Membership Coordinator, and Special Events Coordinator. The Board of Directors is comprised of 13 members elected by the respective business councils, as well as the past president and up to five appointed advisory directors. Each member business is assigned to one of 10 business councils which include: Attractions, Financial, Lodging, Retail, Non-Profit / Government, Professional, Restaurant, Real Estate / Construction, Service, Health Care.

Through a contract with the Village of Ruidoso, the RVCC also manages and operates the Ruidoso Visitors Center. This vital center, co-located with the RVCC, overlooks the Rio Ruidoso and is the lifeblood of the community. Each month the visitor center staff responds in a professional and timely manner to thousands of tourism inquiries and visitors.

GLAC Created for Business Advocacy
Policy Platform Established

One of the Chamber’s top priorities is business advocacy. The Chamber has created a Governmental Legislative Advocacy Committee - GLAC. The purpose of this committee is to strengthen this region’s voice on business and community issues at the local, county and statewide levels.

The Chamber monitors all issues that will have an affect on area businesses from the local to the statewide level. These issues range from tourism to economic development, natural resources to water and everything in between. The GLAC has created a platform of issues, through member input, and will use that platform to identify legislative priorities prior to each legislative session as well as advocate issues on your behalf.

Please go here (pdf document) for the Chamber's policy platform.
