Lance and Jazmin Roe had a dream to bring families together, get them off their cell phones and inspire the young and old with Ruidoso’s greater outdoors. They have certainly succeeded! The company started out as a dream to bring something new to the village.
Their journey began at Grindstone Lake renting kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and fishing supplies from their concessions food truck. Their first summer at Grindstone Lake showed them how eager our locals and visitors are to experience the wonderful outdoor recreation opportunities we have in the Ruidoso area.
The larger and foresighted dream opened with the release of the first OHV guided tours in Southern NM and Lincoln Co. They launched their guided tours with 3 buggies and it has yet to slow down. They offer two- and three-hour tours in the back country of the Lincoln National Forest. They give customers, young and old, the opportunity to explore regions of the forest that they may not otherwise be able to see. The tours are just a buggy ride away from history as they point out the Capitan Mountains where Smokey Bear was found and the Hondo Valley where Billy the Kid and the Regulators fought the Lincoln County War. The tour guides also take the opportunity to call attention to scars from recent wild fires and educate the visitors on wild fire and how it affects our wildlife. Some visitors come in with apprehension because they have never experienced anything like this before, but they always leave excited and happy.
In addition to the off-road buggy tours, Back County Attitudes offers something for just about everyone. Wallace Downs of Pinnacle Trail Systems mans the full service bike shop. Bring your bicycle in for a tune up, repair, or find your next new favorite bike and any accessory you may need to hit the awesome mountain bike trails we have in Ruidoso, including helmets, tires, and water bottles. BCA also offers indoor archery shooting lanes and has a bow tech available for maintenance and tuning of your archery equipment. They sell archery equipment and fishing gear as well.
Bring your car or truck in to the shop and let mechanic JR Montoya help you get it running in top form. From simple oil changes to tires to lift kits as well as fifth wheel hitches and towing and off road accessories, they’ve got you covered!
Needing more space BCA has moved to the old Salad Pallet or the “old Office Supply” building at 1203 Sudderth Drive. As a family owned and operated business their passion and goal is to help bring people into understanding the great outdoors of Lincoln Co.
